Unattractive children get less attention

According to this article, unattractive children receive less attention from their parents at the supermarket. Attractive kids are usually kept closer to their parents, and are more likely to be strapped into the grocery cart so that the parents can show the kid off.

The study seems a little unscientific, and it has to make you wonder... Was the person who started this study an ugly kid?
