Save American Edit

[Media: Music]

The American Edit Album, a Green Day American Idiot mashup and remixing of the original, was taken down a while ago by Warner Brothers in an attempt to remove it from the Internet. For today only, a group of rotating mirror sites are hosting the files for download showing their support in distributing mashup/remix albums.

This is an important question. Does downloading a remixed song dillute the desire to buy the original music? The record companies say yes it does and so they shut down projects like these. I personally would say no it doesn't. If I'm listening to a mashup of Queen and 50 Cent, does that mean I don't need to buy music from either of those artists now? Hell no.

So show some support by illegally downloading some mashup music, or just give it a go because you like mashups in general.
